Eugene, OR - People's Bank of Commerce (People’s Bank) is proud to announce its acquisition of a prime property located at 811 Willamette Street in downtown Eugene, Oregon. The newly acquired property, situated in the heart of downtown Eugene, represents an exciting opportunity for People's Bank to enhance its accessibility and convenience for customers in the area. The building's central location and iconic presence make it an ideal choice for the bank's expansion efforts. Built in 1960, the landmark building was the original location of US Bank in Eugene. Most recently it was home to Cascade Title Company for the past 28 years. While the bank will occupy the ground floor, leasable office space will be available on the second floor of the building later in the year.

The Eugene team, led by Mark Rodewald, Market President, started as a loan production office in the Emerald City in November 2022 which led to a full-service branch in March of 2023 currently located at 360 E 10th Ave. “Our temporary location on 10th Street has been a great starting ground to lift our operation up within the Eugene market,” Rodewald commented. The branch will move to the new location sometime in the fourth quarter, 2024.

As part of the renovation and revitalization of the iconic building, People's Bank has scheduled a public demolition day on Tuesday, April 23rd, marking the beginning of the transformation of the property. We are inviting our neighbors, customers, and dignitaries to join us to commemorate the first sledgehammer swing of demolition. The event will start at 10:00am and refreshments will be served. This event will symbolize the bank's dedication to progress and innovation, as well as its commitment to revitalizing the downtown area.
